Welcome to this month's issue of the Law Office of Spojmie Nasiri’s Immigration Law Newsletter. In this edition, we provide critically important information about the rights that all people have (even if undocumented) in various situations where you may encounter Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. We also provide multiple video recordings of recent presentations that discuss the latest immigration developments under the Trump Administration.
Highlights In This Issue:
As immigration enforcement ramps up under the second Trump Administration, it is of vital importance that you know the rights that you have in case you encounter an agent from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The U.S. Constitution protects all people residing in the United States, regardless of immigration status. Whether or not you are undocumented, you should be aware of the rights and protections that are afforded to you.
Based on the situation in which you encounter an ICE agent, you have certain rights. Our immigration firm has published a webpage where you can download flyers that outline your rights in various situations. Theses resources were prepared by the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC).

In his first few days in office, President Trump issued a slew of executive orders targeting immigrants. He declared a national emergency at the southern border, expanded deportation efforts, blocked asylum seekers from seeking relief, and attempted to end birthright citizenship, among many other actions.
Many of his executive actions are being litigated, and some of his efforts have already been blocked by federal judges. Others are continuing to take shape. In all of the chaos resulting from his executive orders, misinformation about certain actions are spreading on social media.
The VAWA, U-Visa, and T-Visa programs have not been cancelled or terminated. These programs were created by Congress, and only an act of Congress can change or end the program. If you are considering filing under these programs, be sure to keep your documents safe and speak to an attorney.
Earlier this month, Spojmie Nasiri gave a presentation about the current immigration landscape as a result of the sweeping executive orders and actions taken in the first few weeks of the Trump administration.
The event was sponsored by the Afghan-American Community Organization (AACO), the 5ive Pillars Organization, and the SRVIC-MCC Refugee Team, and took place at the Muslim Community Center - East Bay in Pleasanton, California.
